Skin Care Resources Varicose Veins We have been treating small, unsightly spider leg veins for over 15 years, but in the last few years have begun to include the treatment of larger varicose veins as well. For those of you unfamiliar with this technique, it is known as "sclerotherapy." Sclerotherapy involves the careful injection of a special solution into the vein. The solution then acts to eliminate the unsightly blood vessel. Over time, the veins will disappear or fade, resulting in noticeable improvement. Usually, several treatments are necessary to destroy the entire network. After the injections are completed, the patient may be advised to wear compression stockings for a while.
