Congratulations to Kalynn on her one year anniversary with Dermatology Consultants!
Many of you, our patients, have experienced the warmth and care of our newest Medical Assistant, Kalynn. She was born and raised in Dallas and went to Skyline high school where she was in the Hotel and Hospitality management program.
Kalynn developed interest in the medical field after the death of her oldest daughter Dajah.
Tragically, Dajah died at almost three years of age, of an undiagnosed heart condition.
This experience led Kalynn to want to be “hands on” in helping people. She became a Certified Medical Assistant. She loved school and said it taught her a lot and showed her that Medical Assistants do make a difference in the lives of others.
She initially went to work as a mobile phlebotomist, but soon gave that up after having a few of her patients faint and roll off their couches as she tried to draw blood in their homes!
Thankfully for us she started working in Dermatology where she gained six years of experience before coming to Dermatology Consultants. As a medical assistant she loves the patient interaction and bonding with patients.
What she likes most about working at Dermatology Consultants is the staff we have here. What she likes least is that we do not do enough team building (she can’t get enough of us, Ha)! Her favorite DC skin care product is Glycolic Acid Lotion and favorite procedure is watching the Doctors inject filler to see the immediate results.
Kalynn’s seven year old daughter, Kayleigh, keeps her on her toes, literally, since Kaylee is in a dance group and sometimes mom has to dance too! Kalynn also blogs on motherhood, documenting the ups and downs of her journey. She enjoys Karaoke, her favorite food is sweet potatoes and favorite color is pink.
